Who will you be working with?

Shuttlewagon, a Wabtec Company, is looking for its next Parts Research Analyst to administer Aftersales parts assistance and support to Shuttlewagon Dealers by providing accurate and timely customer service. This role works with highly capable and experienced team members across the organization.

How will you make a difference?

The Parts Research Analyst is responsible for creating an avenue for Shuttlewagon Dealers to accurately identify replacement parts and reduce downtime for Shuttlewagon customers. The Parts Research Analyst plays a significant role in the Aftersales department by responding to complex parts inquiries, ensuring order accuracy, and providing complete spare parts solutions.

What do we want to know about you?

  • BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent combination of educational and/or work experience.

  • Previous parts experience (cataloging, lookup, research)

  • Product knowledge (heavy equipment parts)

  • Experience in service support environment and/or supply chain.

  • Demonstrates ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues or technical questions of moderate complexity.

  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and intermediate parts identification proficiency.

  • Demonstrates proficient research and analytical skills with relatable experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Fluency with industry terminology.

  • Performance & results focused.

  • Ability to work across all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent problem solving & analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office.

What will your typical day look like?

The Parts Research Analyst:

  • Provides part numbers, pricing, product availability, and moderately complex technical information to Shuttlewagon Dealers verbally and/or via electronic communication.

  • Creates/validates/submits Shuttlewagon Dealer spare parts stock orders, expedites emergency orders, provides shipment information, and communicates backorder status.

  • Facilitates and tracks progress of made-in spare parts.

  • Leverages knowledge of technical publications and parts manuals, online resources, and in house parts programs to research and gather information for Shuttlewagon Dealers and/or internal stake holders.

  • Responds to parts research requests in a fast-paced environment.

  • Leverages parts recognition experience and mechanical aptitude to meet expectations.

  • Navigates and uses the ERP system, and other company databases and programs, to ensure accurate and timely customer service.

  • Leverages customer service experience to respond to inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Develop excellent working relationships with Shuttlewagon partner organizations to ensure alignment on data requirements, deadlines, and general fulfillment of overall needs.

  • Identify key replacement parts for existing and/or new products.

  • Obtain product details from engineering and secondary product groups.

  • Engage in frequent communication (verbal and written) with development engineering groups, desktop publishing, and product suppliers.

  • Identifies and addresses gaps in knowledge through focused training.

  • Validates spare parts application information.

  • Provides scramble support for ad hoc projects.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily light duty and requires the ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to sit, stand and walk unassisted. Requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to talk and hear. Normal correctable vision is required.
