Program Manager

Job Function: Programs & Services

Business Unit: Wabtec Digital Mine

Reports to: PMO Manager, Digital Mine

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Our Program & Services team at Wabtec Digital Mine, a rapidly growing services function in a Mining Technology business dedicated to delivering world class services to our clients. How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Wabtec Digital Mine group, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, executing, and tracking of installation and service projects in South Africa. This includes monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, and margins, preparing reports for distribution to stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. You will support a range of projects, driving efficiency and ensuring that our commitments to clients are met.

  • Good knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques.

  • Good understanding of the wider objectives of the program.

  • Ability to work positively with a wide range of individuals involved in program management.

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.

  • The ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels and functions.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Daily program management throughout the program life cycle.

  • Defining the program governance (controls).

  • Planning the overall program and monitoring the progress.

  • Managing the program’s budget.

  • Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements.

  • Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies.

  • Managing and utilizing resources across projects.

  • Managing stakeholders’ communication.

  • Aligning the deliverables (outputs) to the program’s “outcome” with the aid of the business change manager.

  • Managing the main program documents, such as the program initiation document.

Other Requirements:

  • Flexible work hours to accommodate varying time zones.

  • Occasional travel to customer sites (including international regions).

  • A current driver’s license is required.

Successful candidates will be employed under local employment conditions and must already satisfy local employment/work permit and residency regulations.
